Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sits somewhere in the Scottish Highlands — exact location unplottable, for obvious reasons — behind wards and enchantments that have stood since its founding by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin sometime around the tenth century. It is a castle that moves its staircases, keeps its portraits in conversation, houses a poltergeist in its corridors and hides the entrance to one of its most important rooms from anyone who is not ready to find it. By any reasonable measure, Hogwarts is not entirely safe. By every other measure, it is home.
