EN | Also known as Eregion (meaning Land of the Holly in Sindarin), Hollin was an Elven Realm of the Ñoldorin Elves during the Second Age. It was located near the West Gate of Moria, or Khazad-dûm. These coins were made by the Ñoldorin Elves while under the rule of Celebrimbor, the great Elven-smith and forger of the Rings of Power. Hollin was later destroyed during the War of the Elves and Sauron. The bilingual inscriptions indicate the Elves and Dwarves in this region maintained amicable relations and traded freely for years during the Second Age. This Elvish Fall Leaf of Holly from the world of J. R. R. Tolkien is struck from solid copper, measures 2.7 cm in diameter, and weighs about 6.4 grams. Coin artwork by Greg Franck-Weiby. Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history, translations, and facts about the coins. Made in USA.
